Robots have a come a long way, but we are still short of having intelligent robotic home assistants. In this talk, we shall cover some recent research allowing robots to move robustly over long deployments, and existing challenges that baffle roboticists.
Joydeep Biswas is an assistant professor of information and computer science at UMass, Amherst. His ultimate research goal is to have self-sufficient autonomous mobile robots working in human environments, performing tasks accurately and robustly.
